Expansion joint selection should begin with the actual operating conditions of the pipeline. Key information includes nominal diameter, design pressure, operating and design temperature, medium, axial movement, lateral movement, angular movement, installation length and connection type.
Material selection is also important. Bellows, pipe ends and flanges may require different materials according to corrosion resistance, temperature and project specifications. For non-standard applications, project drawings and technical specifications are especially useful.
